CACS EDUCATION FOUNDATION

VISION & MISSION

The Compass Academy Charter School Education Foundation(CACSEF) is a nonprofit organization that fosters opportunity for the ethnically diverse community of children who learn at Compass Academy Charter School. Our mission is to provide enhanced opportunities that allow our students to creatively explore learning within and beyond the four walls of the Academy.

The community volunteers who govern the foundation are committed to promoting equity by opening a world of experiential learning opportunities to our students, the majority of whom are economically disadvantaged. The CACSEF seeks to address that disadvantage by relying on research-based approaches to intentionally build human connections that will empower students to become agents of their own futures.

Our Mission will be carried out by:

● Providing enhanced learning experiences within and beyond the four walls      of the academy;

● Generating corporate and community partnerships that will result in career
    shadowing and mentorship opportunities for our students; and

● Facilitating opportunities for CACS faculty members to grow in their

    understanding of how to deliver and extend the effects of experiential     
    learning. 

WHAT WE DO

Our work is to provide the financial resources and professional expertise so that Compass students and teachers are able to:

• explore career opportunities in business, manufacturing, health services, law, construction, engineering, and education; 
• conduct educational trips to major metropolitan areas, educational institutions, and arts and science centers;
• establish mentorships for students with community-based individuals; and
• obtain grant funding for training on how to develop and integrate experiential learning into their classrooms.

HOW WE OPERATE

CACSEF is a recognized 501c3 nonprofit organization in the State of New Jersey established solely for purpose of raising resources to fund and implement the goals of the foundation's mission.

• The CACSEF board of trustees consists of nine members who volunteer their time to conduct the work of the foundation.

• The foundation is affiliated with Compass Academy Charter School in Vineland, NJ.
